NBA star Anthony Edwards is facing a paternity lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Alexandria Descroches, also known as Ally D. In Touch reports that Ally filed the lawsuit in New York on March 13, just over a week before Anthony filed his own lawsuit against her. Ally stated in her filing that she and Anthony have a son who was born in 2023.
Ally noted that Anthony earns his income as a player in the NBA. According to In Touch, Anthony responded by filing his own paternity and support case in Georgia on March 21, a few days after Ally’s filing in New York.
In his lawsuit, Anthony pointed out that Ally and their child live in New York. He claimed that their son was conceived and born in Georgia and stated that all their interactions took place there. He mentioned that Ally had only moved to New York a few months before he filed his case.
Ally has since filed a motion to dismiss Anthony’s case in Georgia, arguing that their son was born in Georgia but that they moved to New York in February 2024, where they have been living since then. Ally contended that Anthony’s lawsuit should not have been filed in Georgia because their child had not lived there for at least six consecutive months, while she and their son had been residing in New York for over a year.
Ally claimed that their interactions did not exclusively occur in Georgia and that they had met in Minnesota when Anthony flew her there during the time of conception. Her lawyer emphasized that their child, A.D., was born on October 23, 2023, and had moved to New York with her by February 2024. They argued that Georgia does not qualify as the child’s home state.
Ally requested that the case be handled in New York rather than Georgia and included her complaint against Anthony as part of her motion.
Earlier this month, Ally spoke to In Touch about the legal battle, stating that she met Anthony in 2020. She recalled that when she informed him about her pregnancy, he told her, “Don’t be messy,” and that she had kept the news private for several months. Ally also indicated that Anthony has not seen their 1-year-old child despite her efforts to facilitate visits.
Her lawyer, Al Hedayati, stated that Ally is raising their child as a single mother and has an open-door policy for Anthony to see their son. Ally mentioned that she is working and planning to attend school, emphasizing that she does not intend to rely on Anthony for financial support.
In addition to this case, Anthony is involved in another legal dispute with his former partner, Ayesha Howard, regarding child support for their daughter, who was born in October 2024.
